A graduate from the Royal College of Art, with previous industrial experience in forecasting and range development for Courtaulds, Harvey Nichols and liberties, and 11 years of teaching at both Croydon College and Loughborough university. 

In winning the Skills Challenge award in 1996, Doreen established a specialist creative Centre, as an industrial Centre for new and established practitioners and businesses.
